Sightings from yesterday:
Longis Hide - Water Rail and Stonechat on the path outside entrance.
Mannez Hide - 1 female Shoveller with 6 Teal, Little Grebe and Kestrel perching on rocks overhanging the pond.

Peregrine diving across bunker and a small group of wagtails flaffling about whilst walking along south cliffs this morning! Lovely dawn chorus of birds too (although quite mixed I couldnt distinguish what, sorry!).

This afternoon: Ringed plover at Saye Bay, 17 Wigeon at Corblets Quarry, Fieldfares around in big numbers (I think more than Redwings now).
Water Rails showing well at Longis Hide birdfeeders.

Shelduck and female shoveler on Mannez quarry pond.

Brilliant bird walk on Sunday:
Lots of birds spotted including: Lapwing, golden plover, redwing, fieldfare, ringed plover, shelduck, wigeon, gannet, buzzards and a kestrel. Check out the 'News' section of www.alderneywildlife.org for a more detailed report!

Following on from that James, I was driving up towards the airport just before your sighting of Redwing and I wasn't 100% what they were, but I think I saw the same flock and there was also another large flock flying in from the SW.
